This steamship could travel under sail when the fuel ran out or under both to make extra speed. This ship and vessels like her must have been benchmarks in the evolution of steam power. The card is unused. The ship is named 'L'Albatross'in the right hand corner; 'A Bougault' appears in the left hand corner with a small anchor laying on its side.

This is an English paddlewheel steamer. The card carries the number 'B.2333.' in one corner. It is a Valentine card and was cancelled at Millport, Isle of Cumberland in 1952. The reverse says this card 'is a real photograph'.

Called the Island Queen, this paddle steamer is pictured landing 'pleasure seekers at Coney Island, 10 Miles from Cincinnati,O.'. Made by the Norwood Souvenir Co., the card was postmarked 1911 in Topeka,Kan.
