Hardware and Layouts

We need pictures of typical hardware on our boats. winches, vangs, travelers, spinnaker gear etc. Anything you can contribute would be appreciated!

The Blocks

Here are some current versions of similar sized blocks to the one used in the original main sheet rigging. These are Ronstan blocks (www.Ronstan.com) I choose them because they did supply Cal with OEM hardware and they are reasonably priced compared to Harken and the other big names.

Goose Neck

Here is a picture of the boom to mast connection. This picture is from Seal's Spars and rigging in their Cal 20 parts section. The mast and rigging of the 21 is almost identical to the 20 and these parts should fit the 21.

Mast Head

Again from Seal's Spars. The mast section is the same for the 20 and 21 so this mast head should be also.

Mast

"Jensen" Section (also known as Famet Marine FM-B)
This is the original mast section used on the Cal 20, 21 and 24, and the Ranger 20. It is also the
original boom section used on the Cal T-4, 27, 2-27, 28, 29, 30, and 2-30, and the Columbia 28.

Transom hardware layout

Here is the stern of Nodrog showing the position of the rudder pintals, motor mount, backstay chainplate, and a few additions. (Thank you Rod for the pictures)

Ultimate rigging setup!

Here are some pictures from Clay Runshe's "TropiCal" showing a sail handling set up with all the bells and whistles. This is typical of a modern setup for easier "from the cockpit" control.
