RADIO REACTION UNIT (RRU)

The RRU is a relatively new area within the society. It is still in the process of being setup and discussions are taking place between the society and the relative emergency services in order to set up an efficient emergency communications back up system.              

Additionally, under the umbrella of the RRU, members take part in assisting various public events in their need for mobile communications such as in marathons, cycle races, public fairs and gatherings etc.

A logo has been designed as well as reflective jackets and magnetic logos for mounting on vehicles involved in events.

Additionally, suitably qualified individuals have direct emergency communications with our Mobile Air Rescue Service (MARS) which is an emergency, trauma paramedic service operating throughout the country. Members will eventually undertake a basic paramedic course.
