Badger Creek
Directions:
From highway 197, turn west at Tygh Valley. Follow
Wamic Market Road through Wamic and onto Rock Creek Dam Road.
Look for the sign for Rock Creek Reservoir, and turn onto
road 4810 and after a short distance to road 4811. After about
1 mile, take another right onto road 2710 (there was no sign
when we came through) until reaching Bonney Crossing Campground.
Park here, the trail starts just past the bridge.
 The
Trail:
The Badger Creek Trail starts out where the desert
sagebrush of the east, meets the forests of the Cascades.
The trail gives the hiker a great variety of landscapes while
transitioning through the different types of enviornments.
We only were able to get out a few miles because we felt like
exploring the rocky canyon walls surrounding the creek. We
hiked the trail in the middle of winter, and I thought that
it was a great hike. Supposedly, the trail is even better
during the spring and summer months when an array of wildflowers
carpet the canyon.
