Maiden Peak Trail

Length: 6 miles (one way) Min Ht:4800' Max Ht:7818'
The Trail: Trail to the summit of Maiden Peak, good views of the surrounding Cascades Directions: Take Highway 58 to Gold Lake Road (Rd. 500), just west of Willamette Pass. Follow this route to the trailhead on the right side of the road, just before reaching the Gold Lake Campground.

Cliff Lake

Length: 10.4 miles (round trip) Min Ht:4200' Max Ht:6500'
The Trail: Trail to Cliff Lake, in the Sky Lakes Wilderness. Directions: From Medford, follow Highway 62 to Butte Falls Road. Follow this route past Butte Falls, to a sign pointing to Prospect. After driving nine miles on this road, turn right onto Lodgepole Rd., and follow it until coming to road 37 for a half-mile until coming to a fork. Take the road on the right (Rd. 3780) for four miles to the trailhead.

Tam McArthur Rim Trail

Length: 5 miles (longer trips possible) Min Ht:6550' Max Ht:8200'
The Trail: Trail explores Tam McArthur Rim and offers excellent views of the Three Sisters and Cascade Range. Directions: From Sisters, drive south on Elm Street, following signs for Three Creek Lake. Elm Street soon turns into road 16. The road turns into gravel after 14 miles. After another 1.7 miles, the trail starts on the left side of the road, directly across from the entrance to the campground, where you park the car.

Metolious River

Length: 5.5 miles (longer trips possible) Min Ht:2700' Max Ht:2900'
The Trail: Trail follows the Metolious River through the semi-arid landscape of Central Oregon. Directions: From Highway 20, just west of Black Butte and the town of Sisters, turn north at the sign for Camp Sherman (Road #14) and stay left at the fork. At five miles, continue straight onto road 1420 and after three more miles, turn right and follow the road for a mile, through the campground and to the trailhead.

Black Crater

Length: 7.2 miles (round trip) Min Ht:4800' Max Ht:7251'
The Trail: Trail takes you to the top of Black Crater with great views of the Three Sisters and Cascades. Directions: From Sisters, drive Highway 242 for 11 miles to a well-marked pullout.

Brice Creek

Length: 5.5 miles (one way) Min Ht:1380' Max Ht:1900'
The Trail: Trail follows Brice Creek through the foothills of the Cascade Range. Directions: From I-5, take the Cottage Grove exit and follow the signs for Dorena Lake through the east side of town. Continue on this road for a couple miles past the town of Disston. The trailhead is located at a turnout just before the road bridges the creek.

French Pete Creek

Length: 9.8 miles (one way) Min Ht:1850' Max Ht:4500'
The Trail: Trail follows French Pete Creek through the foothills and old-growth forests of the Cascade Range. Directions: Drive Highway 126 to the turnoff for Cougar Reservoir (between Blue River and McKenzie Bridge). Follow Road 19 around the west side of the reservoir until the sign pointing the way to French Pete Creek.
