Michael:
Rich Lucibella, the administrator of The Firing Line (http://www.thefiringline.com) is a Bren owner and is interested in the Bren revival too. He's an acquaintance of Jeff Cooper and maybe we'll hear the colonel's opinion on the revival.

For All Newsletter Members:

The guy I bought my Bren from (if I can ever swing the rest of the cash or sell the 2 pistols to pick it up) has several original mags available. I don't know what he's asking for them, but I know he only charged me $100.00 for the second one I bought with the Bren. He's not online, so if anyone wants these, E-mail me and I'll contact him for you and get you his phone number.

Regards,
Joe

Hi Joe,

WOW! That's great news on both counts! Wonder if we could get Fernando from Triton Cartridge hooked up with Jeff Cooper??? Imagine if Mr. Cooper could consult on the new Bren in some capacity? That would definitely add some interest to marketing the pistol again. If we can get original Bren mags for $100 that would be an excellent deal. Having the original mags along with the owner's manual and original box ALL adds to the value of ANY Bren.

P.S. Look for the numbers on the side of the mag and the word "full" to spot an original from a repro.

Michael:
I get visitation on my Bren, so today when I was working in Brunswick, GA, which is only 15 miles from my Bren, I called the guy and he let me come visit it. He has both the Manual AND the brochure in new condition, which he is throwing in at no extra charge. What a guy!

Anyway, I checked since my last mail. He has 2 original Bren mags excellent cond. and he's selling them for $125.00 each. He was going to become a distributor of those mags you talked about in Shotgun News, but when he tried them in his Bren, they wouldn't lock in. He had to file them down in the catch area so that they would even lock at all. Just thought you folks might want to know.

Hi Joe,

A Bren brochure. Cripes that may be as valuable as the owner's manual!!! Maybe MORE valuable as a collector's item! $125 is still pretty reasonable for original Bren mags. I have two repro mags for my Bren and Marksman Special. They both seem to lock in okay. But it does send a warning out to anyone who is considering buying repro mags. Make sure you get some kind of return privilege! I bought two repro mags for my CZ-75 from Forrest, Inc. and they have that problem of not locking in well. I fiddled with them and got them working, but they didn't cost $110 either. Thanks for the warning Joe!
