* Introduction

TEMPUS is the TransEuropean Cooperation Scheme for Higher Education, another programme of DGXXII, for education and training in Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC). TEMPUS forms part of the overall EC programme of Community aid for the economic and social restructuring taking place in Central and Eastern Europe also known as the PHARE programme, and, as from 1994, the Community programme for economic reform and recovery in the former Soviet Republics, known as the TACIS programme. The second phase of the programme (TEMPUS II) was approved on 29 April 1993 to run for four years from 1994 to 1998. TEMPUS operates mainly through JEPs : Joint European Projects linking universities (and enterprises) in CEEC with equivalent partners in EU- and EEA countries. TEMPUS has its offices at:

Polish Agricultural Universities Network for Sustainable Environmental Development (PANSED) Objective: Creation of a new inter-faculty didactic institution at the Agricultural Academy of Warsaw in order to provide education in the field of "Environmental Modelling and Impact Assessment", and the restructuring of the Agricultural Engineering and Civil Engineering study programmes, more specifically in the area of Sustainable Environmental Development, by including new topics dealing with "Water and Agricultural Soils". These newly restructured programmes will be provided through the new "Inter-Faculty Institution" as well as all the other Polish partner universities. The participating organisations are:

* WATERMOST: CREATION OF A EUROPEAN NETWORK OF UNIVERSITIES, ENTERPRISES AND ORGANIZATIONS IN THE WATER INDUSTRY FOR STUDENT AND STAFF MOBILITY.

Objective: to create a European network of universities, enterprises and other non-profit organisations to support mobility at undergraduate and postgraduate levels among five major Romanian Universities and several enterprises which are linked to leading European ones. The Faculties and Departments involved in water sciences and/or in environmental engineering in the fields of water and atmospheric protection have very strong programmes. The mobility of the students represents the main scope of the project and it is of utmost importance by its future benefits. Click here to know more about WATERMOST.
