Licenciatura em Geologia - four academic years. Licenciatura em Engenharia Geologica - five academic years. October until July; credit units Geology - 130 CU; Engineering Geology - 182 CU
Portuguese Language
1 CU = 15 hours lecturing = 45 hours Laboratory classes
* Postgraduate Education
Admission : "Licenciatura" in Geology (four years) or Engineering Geology (five years)
"Mestrado" (Master of Arts) in Geology : first year lecturing - 20 CU; second year Thesis. Hydrologeology is a component. Portuguese. Time schedule, see above.
* Doctorate
Doctor in Applied Geology (Engineering Geology) with a specialization in Hydrology : Groundwater Hydrology, Mineral water, Surface water Hydrology.
Portuguese, Spanish, French or English.
* Accommodation
Residencial house for ERASMUS-students belonging to the Social Services of the University. Limited number of rooms. Candidates should apply at least three months before arrival.
Price - local currency : 10.000$00 (ten thousand escudos) - 60 ECU
Family house - 65 to 120 ECU
Meals at the academic restaurants - 1 ECU
The estimated average cost of living (accomodation, meals and public transport) should be 210 ECU.
* Language Teaching
Portuguese for foreigners :
a) Annual Course in the "Faculdade de Letras" October to June - 195 ECU (thrithy five thousand escudos)
b) Intensive Courses for ERASMUS - 84 ECU (fifteen thousand escudos) Students - Every three months, depending on applications. The corresponding fees are paid by ICP coordinators. Other language courses available both in the "Faculdade" and "British Council", Alliance Fran_aise" and "Goethe Institut".
c) Summer Courses - July; fees - 250 ECU (fourty five thousand escudos)
