* TEST.EAU

"Tests for the basic knowledge in the field of environment / water "is a pilot project funded by the European Commission - DG XXII - Education, Training and Youth - (Contract No. 96-00-liv-0326-00) - in collaboration with the thematic network - ETNET-WATER.

* SOCRATES

The SOCRATES Institutional Contracts between the EU and the individual universities including all former ERASMUS activities will become active from 1997-1998 academic year onwards. Bilateral negociations between the EU and Member States took place in November/December 1996. Contracts may be expected in April/May 1997 and new applications for the Academic Year 1998-1999 are due in July 1997.

* ETNET-WATER

SOCRATES and its first activity ERASMUS on Higher Education has accepted a "Thematic Network-WATER" as a University Cooperation Project of Mutual Interest. ETNET-WATER ( European Thematic Network of Education and Transfer for WATER ), has been active since September 1996 and held it's first Plenary Meeting in Brussels, 16th-17th December 1996. If you are qualified and interested in joining the ETNET-WATER, send an E-mail to the Editor.


* Water Resources Engineering and Management - WAREM

The Universitat Stuttgart is now offering Internationally oriented Master of Science Program in Water Resources Engineering and Management -WAREM-. The duration of the course is 2 years starting from October 1997 or October 1998 consisting of three in-class semesters and one semster (6 months) of thesis work. The curriculum covers: Hydroinformatics and Hydrosystems, Groundwater Resources Management, Ecohydraulics and Hydraulic Engineering, Water Quality Management, Urban Hydraulics and Sanitary Engineering, and Integrated Water Resources Management.
