1950 AMERICAN SCHWINN CRUISER

This classic Schwinn has balloon tyres, springer front forks, mock petrol tank and wide variable handlebars.
As with many of the typical classic American cruisers it has multi coloured tassles.

Used for many years by Mr O.J.Ward Newsagent/Tobacconist, Prescot Hall Farm, Prescot, Lancashire.
Restored by Mr Ward.
Acquired by the Cycle Museum in May 1999.
This is a typical trade cycle complete with willow basket.

1927 GRANBY TAPER TUBE RACER

Bought new by Mr Charles Laurence Smith and used extensively for twelve hour time trials in and around Blackburn, Preston and Cumbria.
Mr Smith donated this machine to the museum shortly before his death (aged 90) in 1999.
