Loren Cunningham, is the founder of Youth with a Mission, an international, interdenominational organization that aims to present the message of the gospel to every place of the earth. In this book the author presents in stories organized in chapters the way that God lead him in his life and ministry. What this book will stir in you is the desire to go to God for guidance and counsel and to trust Him in what He says. Loren Cunningham present his own spiritual story and the way that God worked in his life, not as an expert, as someone that "has it all", that has found ........"the secret", but as a humble servant of God and as a brother as all we are. He does not give only theory but practice and theory from his own life that encourage us to make practice in our own life all that the Word of God says on the subject of guidance, obedience and ministry.

I read this book about a month ago and helped me to understand some of the things that I consider in this issue. It helped me to realise the fight between the old and the new man and even more, the presence and intervention of God in this fight and in the defeat of the old man. Many times we look for the fight in the outside world, while a great part of it is taking place in the "inside world", between flesh and spirit. If the new man does not prevail in the "inside world", he will be unable to be expressed in the "outside world". Our mistake is that we frequently try to fight this fight alone, to become "spiritual" by our own self. We understand that something is going wrong but we try to cover it with "spiritual works". Watchman Nee shows that our problem is the old man and he exposes the action of God in this fight, that unfortunately many of us we consider as an entirely personal affair. Regarding the author, he is a prolific one that lived in China and acted in the first half of our century. He was imprisoned by the communist government and remained in prison till his death in 1972.
