A Christian Homeschool is a Calling
Hi! My name is Jaynee and my husband, Paul, and I have 2 daughters. Sarah is 18 and Molly is 8. We enjoy boating and much of Molly's schooling is done on the boat in spring and summer. Sarah goes to a government highschool. Molly went to government schools for Kindergarten and 1st, then the Lord led us to remove her from the system and to homeschool her. We believe that it is our God-given responsibility to teach our children Biblical teachings and living. We believe that no classroom setting can do all for every child, but also, that not all children would do well in a homeschool setting. Homeschool teaching is a calling, not something that should be undertaken lightly.

Our learning philosophy
In our school, the Bible is the first and last book read each day. We believe in a literal 6 day creation and a young (6,000 -10,000 years old) earth, hence our school name. We can derive lessons in every subject from the Bible. English, reading, history, even science! God discusses the dinosaur and dragons in the book of Job. See my resource page for creation science books. We use real books from the library for subject learning and information from the web. Learning is by submersion in a topic so we use text books for guidelines, then delve deeply into a subject.

Networking is Important for Homeschoolers
As homeschoolers, we often get frustrated when things don't go smoothly and our children don't wake up excited for school every day. We sometimes (often?) need reassurance from other home educators/moms that this is not unusual. Believe it or not, kids don't like going out to school every day, either! There are as many ways to homeschool as there are homeschoolers. It is helpful to hear from others about the resources that they use. That is what this page is about. I will share my favorite links with you. Won't you share yours with me? I will update this site regularly with new links that you share. Hope to hear from you soon!
