Special kudos to my FAVOURITE character.. no it’s not Henry the sliding dog!
....It’s Quinn....
(surprise!!)
Qball to his friends but better known, by me, as Cornball by the end of season 3 - after some of those lines ! They were real doozies.!! Poor Jerry !! Now JODSers please dont flame me.. I cant help it if I’m a QUINNster and not a JODSer. Still the man did a pretty good job with what he had to work with. Aren’t the writers lucky they had someone who could carry off those bad lines and cornball situations.
Now call me crazy, but….. Hey! Who are you calling names here??? Anyhow, it’s my theory that in State of the Art, they actually succeeded in sending Quinn’s Brain stuff to the android. That would account, somewhat, for the strange about-face that Quinn made in season 3.. especially where our lovely fair Wade is concerned. Where were those longing looks between them?? Those flashing blue eyes?? The quirky smirk???
Where’s his compassion for his sliding companions?? Especially Wade, his Bud?? The one he cried over when he thought she’d died???? The burning, unquenchable love/lust between them?? His Noisy Kissing Partner?? Weren’t we meant to notice this stuff ??? !!! Why build up this relationship only to let it fizzle like they did!! The man had more interest in the Skirt of the Week than he did for his sliding family. Tch Tch writers! Shame on you!!!!
Now as far as I’m concerned, they are barking up the wrong tree (and any reference to wood is PURELY intentional) with this liaison between Quinn and Maggie. I was over the moon to hear that they were "re-tooling Maggie’s character".... as it wasn't working.. wise words, well chosen, by a wise man. Afterall, this is a show about sci-fi.
I watched the show for the sci-fi, and was totally bored by the movie of the week rip-offs we were handed towards the end of Season 3. What was Breeders about???????
If the writers wanted to get 'stuff' into the show they had the perfect opportunity with Wade/Quinn, and that whole 'unexpressed' love stuff that writer's of tv shows seem to thrive on. The "will they/ wont they" scenerios. It would seem that it is a far more acceptable liasion than the Maggie/Quinn one. However, it must be said, that Sabrina Lloyd had quite a bit to say on that matter. She requested that Quinn and Wade NOT be made a twosome, for the fear that it would ruin the storylines of the show. I mean, afterall, who would want to be known only as Quinn's girlfriend??!!!!! Haahaha. Wise, wise lady!!! Read about it here.
But I am certainly looking forward to seeing the 'revised Maggie' we have been promised by the new team. Admittedly, it would have been difficult for any actress to play Maggie convincingly, her character was so out of whack! Driven by revenge for the death of her beloved husband, only to try to come onto nearly every man she meets along the way?? Come on!!!!! And what's this longing looks between her and Quinn during the scouting mission?? Crumbs.. her 'darling' hubby was still alive at that point!! Again, tch tch writers....
