Slider's quotable quotes
Seasons 1, 2 and 3
Most of these quotes have been taken from Tim Lucas's Site INTO THE VORTEX. This is one cool site, full of Episode guides and nitpicks. I really urge you to go and check it out, after you're finished here, that is :)
Here are just a few of my favourite quotes.
In no particular order either!
First up, a quote in reference to my Acquired Prop List: MY SLIDING EQUIPMENT
Arturo and Wade don't like Rembrandt gloating over the
fact that he saved himself a few bumps and bruises during the landing by wearing knee and
elbow pads:
Rembrandt: "You, too, could have had a safe and sound
landing."
Wade: "If the choice is
looking like a reject from the roller derby or getting a little sliced up from the
pavement..."
Arturo: "We'll take the
pavement every time."
Hey! Them's Fighting Words!! They are now MY prized possessions :))
In Summer of Love, Quinn and Professor go to rent a Loft. They are discussing the war.
Landlady: "This fight aint just with the Aussies. If South Australia falls, it's just a hop, skip and a jump to our shores."
Quinn: "Well, we cant have that! Boomerangs and kangaroos everywhere.. what a nightmare!"
From Love Gods...
Professor: "Australia's the superpower? That barren continent was barely suitable for an English prison."
Man: "That barren continent was far enough away from the poison cloud to suffer the fewest casulties."
You may notice that most of the quotes are Rembrandts. I happen to think he was the funniest character, before those netwits changed him into G.I. Joe! Let's hope that Sci- Fi can get the show back to what it was. According to my information, they intend to!
Rembrandt, talking about his girlfriend from Earth Prime: "She and I were gonna make a team. Sorta like Ike and Tina, but without the broken dishes."
Our heros land on a deserted world, and just happen to find a tv still working and a news report to inform them of what's about to happen!
TV Reporter: "The swarm has now reached the outskirts of the deserted city. Given the massive devestation in Southern California it's hard to imagine anyone would be foolish enough to venture within a 100 miles of this place...
The Professor (slightly peeved) : "Of course! Who else could possible be here but us! The happy wanderers!!"d [ check out his face as he delivers this line! Oh so funny :) ]
Rembrandt to Wade, under a love potion's spell "Have I ever told you how beautiful you
are?"
Wade: "Uh-oh."
The only good thing to be in the Flame Boy episode:
Wade: "What the hell was that
place?"
Rembrandt: "Maybe
it was hell."
Arturo: "The hell it was!"
Rembrandt: "Yeah,
five more seconds -- you would have been a believer."
Arturo: "Five more seconds, I'd
have been beef wellington."
From that Junior Rip off episode
Rembrandt: "I'm pregnant?! I'm not
even married!"
Rembrandt again! In Slide like an Egyptian:
Rembrandt, after shocking the giant scarab with a home-made phaser
(as he called it) to keep it from eating them: "That's
it buddy, keep on going! The kitchen's closed!"
Quinn volunteers Wade for a job: "Wade, didn't you wait tables back in high school?"
Wade: "Thanks for
remembering."
Arturo tries to console Wade: "We'll
do the menial work on the next world."
Wade: "Next two worlds."
Quinn discussing the "thing" underground:
"It could be some kind of freak nemertean."
Rembrandt: "Is that Latin for 'big
freakin' worm?'"
Quinn: "Something like that."
Rembrandt, complaining about the cold weather: "Why couldn't you have invented sliding in Miami or something? I mean, that way you'd all be warm; I wouldn't even be here."
Wade, optimistic as ever, worries how they'll get out of
yet another sticky situation:
Arturo: "Courage, Miss
Wells. Walk calmly. We've got out of worse situations than this."
Wade: "Not lately."
Who could look past this one! I'm sure more than a
few of us have been in touch with this emotion before ! :)
Quinn's hangover in The Good, The Bad and The Wealthy.
Rembrandt: "Are you all right?"
Quinn: ""Nothing
a bullet between the eyes wouldn't cure."
Arturo: "Be careful what you wish for."
This would probably go down in the books as being one of
the Classic Quotes:
Arturo, at the beginning of the episode, after having had a
rough time in the wormhole:
"Others take note: the first casualty of sliding is dignity."
This is one of my Ahhh!
Thunk! Award winners. Between Quinn and Wade
:) Once Maggie came on the scene these moments were few and far between, interesting it
should happen in an episode that Jerry O'Connell directed himself.
Quinn and Wade in the alley after she was released from Morgan's
spell:
Wade: "When I was with those guys, up there with the
band, I felt like I really belonged, like I wasn't alone."
Quinn: "You're not alone -- you've
got us."
Wade: "Do I?"
Quinn: "Always. I'm sorry if I
haven't made that clear lately."
Wade: "Maybe I just need to hear
it more often than some people."
When our heroes land on Cannibal World, the three men poke their heads out of the tent. Wondering who will be eaten first, Rembrandt turns to the Professor and says:
Rembrandt: "Don't look at me. I'm just a Chicken McNugget, you're the Quarter Pounder!"
