Because of unceasing efforts to improve the strength, lifetime, the look and the lightness of its harnesses. Petzl has been the market leader for a long time.Petzl place great importance on the components and the basic materials they use.
- quality of polyester or polyamide webbing,
- abrasion resistance,
- treatment for U.V. resistance,
- quality and effect of dyes used,
- weaving techniques,
- water resistance of webbing,
- choice of thread used for stitching. But it is necessary to think of the comfort and the life expectancy of the harness before manufacture. Ergonomic design and durability are often linked : good positioning of stitching and webbing limits the wear on them, reduces distortion, and maintains freedom of movement. And if a fall occurs, a good distribution of the impact force over the user's body, combined with the use of a shock absorber, ensures that the fall is arrested gently.
Petzl harnesses are submitted to strict quality controls throughout the manufacturing process. Their identification number allows traceability through all the production processes from weaving the tape to finished product. Of course, they conform to the requirements of the relevant European standards.
The 3 year guarantee covers only defects in the manufacture of the product. Wear and tear is not covered by the guarantee.
