INTRODUCTION TO ROCK CLIMBING
Rock Climbing is a sport that is available to anyone. It can be practiced at a variety of skill levels regardless of age or fitness. If you have never done any climbing, or need a refresher, here's where to start. This is an introduction to the world of rock climbing with an emphasis on safety and fun. In all our courses, we'll cover the absolute essentials for safely climbing steep rock and is a valuable course for those wishing to pursue mountaineering. Classes are taught on low-angle, moderate rock suitable for novices. Look out for our course syllabus.
ROCK CLIMBING is exhilarating, challenging, healthy and FUN - an activity unlike any other. When approached in the correct way, it is also nowhere near as dangerous as many people think. Thanks to the development of modern safety equipment, climbing routes that would have been considered dangerous ten years ago can now be done with relative security.
If you discover throughout our course, that you have natural ability, it will be sometime before you can become competent. One of the greatest pleasures of the sport - is that rock climbing cannot always be rigidly structured, because every rockface and every climber is different, and you learn something new every time you put foot to rock.
As much as we enjoyed spreading this knowledge to all of you, we hope that you can also discover many joys of rock climbing with Us. See ya there!

REMINDER
ALWAYS TREAT YOUR ROPE WITH
CARE - YOUR LIFE DEPEND ON IT !!!
Don't step on your rope, or allow it to become dirty, as this will greatly reduce its life. You should also keep your rope away from chemicals, excessive heat and out of direct sunlight as much as possible. If you climb of sea cliffs regularly you should rinse your rope out in fresh, cold water as often as possible, and air dry (out of direct sunlight).Never lend your rope to anyone. Never buy a used rope. They don't fetch much money, and there's probably a good reason why someone wants to deal with it.
A certain amount of grime in unavoidable. When the rope becomes obviously dirty, machine wash it in cold or warm water and mild soap. Use the delicate fabric setting and rinse it for two cycles. Avoid the dryer.
Instead, string it up in a shady place, or flake it out on a clean floor and let the water evaporate naturally, normally accompalished in a couple of days.
Protect your rope from unnecessary exposure to the sun; save for huge falls that result in sheath damage and careless abuse, U.V rays are the single most destructive force your rope is exposed to, so the more time you spent in sunlight, the faster it will deteriorate. Always store your rope in a cool, dry, shady place.
