O'SCALE LAYOUT

The roughly 15 foot by 90 foot layout is fully scenic with buildings and equipment representative of the late 1940's, 1950's and early 1960's, the transition years from steam power to diesel locomotives.  The double mainline for standard gauge equipment, single main for the On3 line and all of the yards, sidings and industrial trackage are hand laid in appropriate code rail.  The On3 line shares some of the standard gauge rail from the south end of the layout through one of the industrial areas to a mountain pass on the north end of the pike.  Here, there is also a traction line with single energized overhead wire that moves from a lower hidden yard through Grand Central Station, climbing a helix up the mountain, then through a cut over standard gauge passenger and freight yard trackage, to elevated trackage along the city front leading to an upper hidden yard and station.
